UF Law Students Raise Funds & Awareness About Child Abuse

This week is “Child Abuse Awareness Week” and the University of Florida Levin College of Law’s Family Law Society organization is striving to combat the rising number of cases of child abuse both locally and statewide. On Tuesday they sold black and blue ribbons in the law school court yard for a $1.00 donation in an effort to help finance some of the children’s programs facing termination due to budget cuts. The slogan on the ribbons read “Wear Black and Blue” so children don’t have to.” As Michelle McKenzie reports organizers hope the cause will encourage people to give.
