Resurfacing project in Alachua begins

The Florida Department of Transportation will begin resurfacing the Interstate 75 frontage road in Alachua, locally known as April Boulevard.  The road runs adjacent to the northbound lanes of I-75 just north of US 441.  The resurfacing project will cost $1.2 million and is expected to last about 3 months.  The project includes paving a new layer of asphalt, constructing five foot paved shoulders,  improving drainage and adding guardrail at various locations.
