Hurricane season begins Saturday, and local Alachua County agencies are already preparing for emergency operations.
On Wednesday morning, the Alachua County Emergency Operations Center spoke with the media about the upcoming hurricane season.
Alachua County Emergency Management Director David Donnelly said people in the community should also take precautions, such as as creating or updating an emergency kit that includes food and water.
