Newberry and Alachua County Commissioners discuss future use of Canterbury Equestrian property

The potential purchase of the Canterbury Equestrian Showplace is the topic tomorrow before a joint meeting of the Newberry City Commission and Alachua County Commissioners. The meeting gets underway at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Meanwhile Newberry commissioners plan to have a town hall meeting tonight with residents on the issue. Florida's 89.1, WUFT-FM's Kathryn Belton spoke with Newberry City Manager Keith Ashby, who says they have been trying to save Canterbury because it is such a great part of the city.

Newberry City Commissioner Joe Hoffman says they are going to try and tie in private businesses with the city of Newberry for additional funding.
