Feeding more homeless gets support of Gainesville mayor

The limit on the number of meals served at St. Francis House in downtown Gainesville has been a point of contention for years. Right now, an ordinance limits the amount of meals volunteers at St. Francis House can serve to 130 meals per day, but a petition from St. Francis House moved to change the limit of meals to a three hour window of time during which meals can be served. Earlier Wednesday, Gainesville Mayor Craig Lowe issued a statement supporting this idea. WUFT-FM’s Joe Lancos spoke with Sean Larson of the Coalition to End the Meal Limit Now about the mayor’s decision.
