Teenage accident numbers increased in 2011

A new study by the Governors Highway Safety Administration has produced a troubling finding. Traffic deaths involving 16 and 17 year olds were up in the first six months of last year. GHSA Executive Director Barbara Harsha says that it may be due in part to declining effectiveness of the states' graduating licensing laws.

She says parents need to be more involved with their kids in setting the rules for driving.
