Administration transition shouldn't reflect in patient care

The Alachua County Health Department is working to transition to new administration without affecting patient care. Interim Administrator Paul Myers says it will be a seamless switch. He says resources at the health department are tight, so they will be forced to continue cutting some patients from basic care.

He says most of the patients cut will be those who do not live in Alachua County and those eligible for third party payers.  Those still covered should not see any difference in services. He says the health department needs to live within its budget, and the amount of care they give to the uninsured does not allow that.
