Curator of lepidoptera at Florida Museum of Natural History nominated for major conservation prize

The critically endangered Miami Blue butterfly is one of the rarest insects in North America. The breed returned to South Florida in May when University of Florida researchers released several hundred butterflies that had been bred in captivity. Director of the Florida Butterfly Monitoring Network Jaret Daniels is one of 29 conservationists nominated for the biennial Indianapolis Prize. Florida's 89.1, WUFT-FM's Kristin Hammel spoke with Daniels on what it means to be in the running for the world's leading award in animal conservation.
