Marion County is stepping up efforts to work with local businesses. County Procurement Services Director Susan Olsen says both the business and the local economy can benefit from the partnership.

The month-long campaign aims to bring awareness to these businesses and encourage the businesses to participate in the county’s bidding and quote process. There are 116 commodity/service areas where Procurement Services solicits quotes, and Olsen says this month is one in which the government does a lot of purchasing- so the commission hopes that purchasing can be local.
