In wake of school shooting, one media ethicist reviews what's happening in Newtown

While Friday's elementary school shooting in Newtown, Conn., struck many emotions for people across the United States, the media's coverage of the shooting faced criticism in some circles.

WUFT spoke with Kelly McBride, senior faculty member in ethics, reporting and writing at St. Petersburg's Poynter Institute, about why many people voiced their opinions about the media's coverage of the shooting and how journalists can get better at covering breaking news.
