Ginnie Springs campground in High Springs celebrated Easter this weekend with its 13th annual Easter Egg Hunt. With more than 200 wooded acres and seven freshwater springs, Ginnie Springs catered to both children and adults by hosting two different Egg Hunts – one on land and one underwater.

More than 7,000 eggs containing toys or candy were available for children ages 1 to 11 to hunt for while those 12 and older could snorkel in the underwater hunt and compete for over 180 underwater eggs and $1,000 in total prizes.

The Easter egg hunts ran from 8 to 10 a.m., Sunday, April 16, 2017, and included a special appearance by the Easter Bunny.

Visitors were able to cool down afterwards by swimming, snorkeling, or diving in the year-round 72-degree crystal-clear water or they could choose to float down the Santa Fe River adjacent to the springs.
