FDLE crime stats released, Alachua County crime rate declines

Florida Department of Law Enforcement just released the new statewide county report on crime statistics. Alachua County Sheriff's Public Information Officer Art Forgey talked with WUFT-FM's Meredith Chipman about the drop in Alachua County crime rates.

Florida overall saw a two percent decrease in total crime, and Gilchrist and Putnam counties saw double digit decreases. But Bradford, Levy and Marion counties saw increases in total crime rates.
