On the November 6, 2012 General Election ballot, voters in Alachua County will decide whether to pass the Fix Our Roads Alachua County sales surtax. The sales surtax is on the ballot to create a new funding source for road repair and maintenance throughout the County and in all County municipalities. Florida's 89.1, WUFT-FM's Stephanie Denardo spoke with Mark Sexton, Communications Coordinator for Alachua County, about how the county can legally promote the sales tax ballot, and what it means for residents and the roads if it passes.
