Last week, Governor Rick Scott signed off on a piece of legislation which will make changes to Medicaid billing that could cost Alachua County millions of dollars. The bill includes a provision making counties responsible for 85% of unpaid bills related to medicaid patients hospitalized for more than 10 days, a process that politicians say is flawed. Florida's 89.1, WUFT-FM's Cameron Taylor spoke with Florida Representative Charles Chestnut IV from Gainesville who says the logistics of the bill are unfair for smaller counties throughout the state.
