Marisa Gonzalez Eubanks, UF CJC Class of 1989

Marisa Gonzalez Eubanks is a Gator graduate who earned a bachelor’s degree in advertising in 1989 from the College of Journalism and Communications, but her accomplishments have long extended outside the classroom or a paper diploma.

Her time at UF set the course for a professional who routinely treks the path unknown and comes out on top. As chair of Student Government productions, she was the first woman to lead this position in the history of the university. Her leadership was the result of tenacious effort that reaped results after she served as vice chair for two years.

Her professional career, too, is embedded in successful startup initiatives. She played a key role in the launch of Maersk Line’s marketing services in the Caribbean, where she was involved in training both U.S. and Latin sales representatives. After eight years with law firm Akerman Senterfitt developing “a multi-million marketing budget” and contributing to the firm’s two-fold growth in hired attorneys, Gonzalez returned to her trailblazing roots.

As the first marketing professional working for Rumburger, Kirk & Caldwell, she gleefully accepted the role, considering it an “exciting challenge,” according to her LinkedIn profile.
