Vanessa Lizama, UF CJC Class of 1999

Vanessa Lizama is a two-time Gator.

She graduated from the University of Florida’s College of Journalism and Communications in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in advertising and a minor in business. She also earned her master’s degree in business administration from UF in 2012.

After graduating in 1999, Lizama worked as an assistant media buyer for KSL Media in Fort Lauderdale, where she assisted clients such as the Florida Marlins, Victoria’s Secret and Revlon, to name a few.

In 2000, Lizama left KSL and began working as a media buyer and planner with Bates USA in Miami. In her role there, she participated in the planning and negotiation processes for U.S. Hispanic and Latin American advertising campaigns.

Lizama then became the associate media director at Zubi Advertising Services Inc. in Miami, where she worked for over 11 years. During her time there, Lizama managed multicultural U.S. Hispanic marketing efforts for clients such as Ford Motor Company, Olive Garden and Winn-Dixie.

After that, Lizama worked at Terra, an information services company in Miami, where she was named the client development director and managed programmatic sales development initiatives for U.S. Hispanic and Latin American clients in an effort to increase overall sales revenue.

In 2015, Lizama began working at Univision Communications. Her first role there was director of outbound sales solutions for Univision Interactive Media.

Lizama relocated to New York City in April 2016 when she was named the vice president of digital media strategy for Univision. Lizama currently oversees the strategic direction, planning and pricing on all digital and social media plans presented to agencies and clients.
