Nereida Perez, Class of 1986

Nereida “Neddy” Perez graduated the University of Florida College of Journalism and Communications in 1986.

She currently holds a talent acquisition and external diversity partnerships position at TIAA,  a Fortune 100 financial services organization. She also founded D&I Creative Solutions in 2016 and is the compamny’s CEO. Additionally, Perez is a founding member of STEMConnector.org.

Perez earned a bachelor’s degree in public relations at UF, and she was also involved in various university organizations such as the Public Relations Society of America and the Florida Alligator newspaper.

In 2000, Perez earned a master’s degree in human resources from Nova Southeastern University. In 2003, she received a corporate board of directors certificate from Harvard Business School. In 2007, she earned a certificate from America’s Leadership Program, which selects approximately 30 women leaders annually throughout the U.S. who represent future business leaders.

Perez has also served as the chief diversity officer and national director of affirmative action of KPMG. In 2008, she became vice president of inclusion and diversity for the National Grid in Brooklyn, New York. Perez was also vice president of global diversity and inclusion talent and organizational capabilities for Ingersoll Rand in Charlotte, North Carolina, from 2011 to 2015.

Perez serves on several nonprofit boards, including the National Utilities Diversity Council, Asia Society Talent Diversity Council, and the Society of Human Resources Management Foundation Board.
