Christian De La Rosa graduated from the University of Florida in 2006. He earned a bachelor’s degree in radio and TV journalism from the College of Journalism and Communications. He minored in business.
De La Rosa, along with 2006 alumnus Ken Molestina, started up a forerunner of the Spanish-language Noticias online on WRUF’s website when the station was mainly broadcasting news and sports.
He grew up in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He also attended La Universidad de Puerto Rico, where he studied labor law. De La Rosa now lives Florida, where he is a news reporter and anchor for ABC news affiliate WPLG Local 10 Miami. He’s been at the station since April 2017. He has also worked in Atlanta, San Diego, Orlando and Panama City Beach.
Aside from national interest stories, De La Rosa has also focused attention on U.S. immigration issues. In addition, De La Rosa wrote, filmed and directed an award-winning documentary in Africa about the fight against poverty and AIDS in Africa.
