April 10 to April 16 is National Library Week. While no coordinated celebration is planned for the libraries of the tiny towns of Levy County, Lisa Brasher, director of Levy County Public Libraries, said they are living up to the theme of the week, "Libraries Transform," by being a third place for residents to meet.

Flooding from heavy rains in Levy County has left both coastal and inland areas overrun with standing water. While normal summer weather patterns are expected to return later this week, a boil water notice was put into effect.

Florida fisherman are concerned with the growing taste for imported fish. As imports from other countries increase, questions of ethics and safety are floating to the surface.

Residents of Yankeetown have been divided by a long-standing feud over potential developments. The town currently has no mayor because no one wants to take on the responsibility of leading a divided town.

Florida executed William Happ on Tuesday for a 1986 murder. The state used a new lethal injection drug, midazolam hydrochloride. Happ was Florida's sixth execution of 2013.
