October is LGBT History Month, and as the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community takes a look back at the significant moments that have shaped its culture, members of the community also look to the future as society continues to make significant strides toward equality.

A new book claims food can be as addictive as drugs, cigarettes and alcohol. Co-editor Mark Gold, a professor at the University of Florida's College of Medicine, said UF's McKnight Brain Institute is researching how the addictions are similar.
