Plans For Micanopy Music Venue To Advance

Micanopy may soon be home to a new entertainment venue. The Micanopy Town Commission and Planning and Historic Preservation Board recently approved the drafting of an ordinance that would ultimately allow Micanopy Canopy Connection to be used for musical and theatrical performances. Residents who attended the Tuesday meeting applauded the move - saying that it will bring more foot traffic to the town.

Micanopy Man Collecting Pumpkins To Feed His Farm Animals

Johnny Green is collecting old pumpkins to feed to his four baby pigs and 12 chickens in Micanopy. Green spread the word about his search for old pumpkins through Facebook, and community members have already donated. Green will pick them up around town or community members can drop them off at his Micanopy farm.
