The Fight for $15 and Union Rights movement rally to raise the minimum wage took place in over 20 cities in Florida Tuesday as part of National Day of Action. The local rally was organized by the Alachua County Labor Coalition and took place at Northwest 13th Street and West University Avenue.

The Gainesville Regional Transit system has made changes to its bus routes and many residents are not happy. RTS has received increases in complaints since the changes, particularly for Route 20, which has had four new buses added to it after Route 21 was eliminated.

Locals are reacting to the possibility of a utility rate increase that would accompany Gainesville’s possible switch away from mountaintop coal removal.
