University of Florida Joins Colleges Banning Hoverboards

After a series of incidents in which hoverboards - electronic skateboards - burst into flames, the University of Florida today joined more than 30 other colleges and universities around the nation in issuing a ban on them in resident halls. A university official said the ban will be in place until the hoverboards can meet fire safety standards.

National Assessment Of Education Progress Scores Low In Florida

The 2015 scores for the National Assessment of Education Progress exam (NAEP) are out, and the overall results were low for Florida and the nation as a whole. The scores for Florida's eighth graders in the national math exam were lower than two years ago. Despite these low scores, Duval County Public schools were ranked among the top districts in the U.S. in both reading and math.
