The Alachua County Office of Sustainability hosted an hour-long information session Wednesday afternoon about the benefits of solar power as part of a series of "Lunch and Learn" events.

Xiaodan Liang is a gu zheng teacher at Hua-Gen Chinese school in Gainesville. Gu zheng is known as a traditional Chinese zither. She has played the string instrument in various city festivals, and says that one of the reasons she teaches it is to spread the beauty of Chinese culture.

Interesni Kazki, the famous duo of artists from Kiev, Ukraine, will begin painting a large mural Thursday in downtown Gainesville as part of the 352walls urban art project.

A Gainesville resident is challenging the way the city enforces parking downtown. “The sign says you are legally allowed to park for two hours,” Kelsey Naylor said. “To get ticketed at an hour and forty minutes, how is that fair?”
