Bo Diddley Plaza in downtown Gainesville is being renovated, but the one thing that won't be included is a "no-smoking" sign. Some residents are irked by that. Diddley was also against smoking. One resident asked city commissioners to ban smoking in the plaza. But a city manager said state law forbids it from banning smoking in city parks.
