The University of Florida and Shands plan on opening a 24-hour emergency facility in northwest Gainesville next year. This $10 million facility will allow locals to have access to quicker care in their area.

In its Dec. 11 meeting, the Alachua County Board of County Commissioners will take its final vote on the Archer Braid Trial. The board is being asked to reconsider a 2.2-mile trail portion that was rejected in September. The meeting will be open to the public.

Ron Kozlowski, attorney for Pedro Bravo, said it is premature to talk about his client's case proceedings. Bravo remains in jail without bail, charged with the murder of missing UF student Christian Aguilar.

The Gainesville Police Department said there have been no new developments in the case of the UF freshman who has been missing since Sept. 20.
