Brown is seeking an injunction that would block the state from using the new Congressional District 5.

The citrus industry is "in a struggle for our survival," facing its worst growing season in a half-century due in large part to citrus greening disease. The Florida Citrus Commission will start building a budget for next fiscal year that projects a much-smaller crop than in the current year.

The Court found the old system of giving judges, not juries, the power to impose death sentences was an unconstitutional violation of defendants' right to trial by jury.

The Rules Committee voted 5-4 to reject a measure (SB 1364) that would have created a public-records exemption for personal information — such as names, dates of birth, addresses and telephone numbers — of people getting hunting licenses from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
