One senior at the University of Florida submitted a detailed written description of her assault – anonymously – to one of a new series of Twitter survivor accounts emerging around the United States, intended to empower victims and warn fellow classmates.

Court records said the Bieglers and their company, Biegcorp Inc., have been under investigation for at least one year on suspicion of tax evasion and willful failure to collect or pay over taxes. Both are federal felony charges that can carry fines up to $500,000 and prison terms of five years.

A 24-year-old laborer was buried for 28 harrowing minutes earlier this year before he was saved during a chaotic, heroic rescue effort by firefighters.

Now, weeks later, some of the nation’s public schools even in areas that weren’t badly flooded or escaped major wind damage remained closed – partly because of a lack of safe drinking water for young students. Other schools awaited the slow process of assessments by engineers that buildings wouldn’t collapse once classes filled with returning children. 

Two UF professors are leading an effort to persuade the three local first-run movie theaters – all owned by Regal Cinemas, the nation’s second-largest theater chain – to offer more such films.
