Congressman Richard Nugent proposed a bill known as the “Congress is Not a Career Act,” which would allow all members of Congress to opt out of their taxpayer-funded pension plans.

Florida Rep. Alan Williams proposed a bill last week that if passed would repeal the law that received a lot of attention after the killing of Treyvon Martin almost a year ago. Williams believes the law has failed. The repeal of the law will have to go through the House Judiciary Committee charied by Rep. Dennis Baxley, an original co-sponsor of the law.
