Former Abortion Clinic In Ocala To Become A Free Clinic For The Homeless

Interfaith Emergency Services in Marion County hopes to begin offering expanded health services for homeless and low-income residents by early August in what was formerly the Ocala Women's Center. The shelter's recent purchase of the women's center means it can begin offering primary medical, dental and counseling services as part of the Hope Clinic, a nonprofit, free clinic for the county's uninsured.

Alachua County School District Receives Donation Of $1.5 Million

A donation of $1.5 million dollars will be given to Alachua County Public Schools over the next three years to help the district provide mental health services to four elementary schools considered to be high-needs schools. The grant, which was donated anonymously, will help provide additional mental health services to children at Lake Forest Elementary, Idylwild Elementary, Metcalfe Elementary and Rawlings Elementary.
