Suspect in GHS bomb threat detained in Texas

Gainesville Police Department was notified today that a suspect in the Gainesville High School bomb threat has been arrested in Austin, Texas. The bomb threat was emailed Sunday to GPD. GPD Spokeswoman Corporal Angelina Valuri says the arrest was made yesterday in Austin. Armed robbers hold up Bank of America on Newberry Road

An area bank was robbed at gunpoint this morning. The Bank of America on Newberry Road in Gainesville was robbed at around 9:30 a.m.  Alachua County Sheriff’s Spokesperson Art Forgey says the the robbers were armed with a shotgun.
