The chairman of the University of Florida board of trustees served as a liaison with the office of Gov. Ron DeSantis when administrators were considering temporarily moving some college classes online due to the pandemic, according to text messages.

A Gainesville man fed up with his neighbors’ parking habits decided to take matters into his own hands — by firing a flamethrower at a car with teenagers inside, according to a Gainesville police report.

The paperwork – known as a financial disclosure report – must be filed annually by all members of Congress or congressional candidates by mid-May or within 30 days as soon as they spend or collect at least $5,000 during their campaigns, or no more than 30 days before an election, including a primary, according to congressional rules.

Until then, the county’s nine departments will continue under the oversight of Will Sexton, the county attorney and interim county manager. It also solidified plans to set up meetings with nearby current and former county managers to gain more insight into the search process.

Bradford County’s last day with a full-time county manager was Dec. 31. No one knows who the next one will be – or if and when the county will look for the next one.
