The spring 2023 university-wide commencement ceremony took place on Friday evening at Ben Hill Griffin Stadium.
Anticipation was high for new UF President Ben Sasse’s appearance in front of a crowd.
As his first semester leading the university came to a close, he spoke mainly of Tom Petty, whom the school awarded a posthumous doctoral degree in music.
