2023 Gator Fly-In and Armed Services Appreciation Day

By

The 7th Annual Gator Fly-In and Armed Services Appreciation Day is Saturday, March 25.

The Gainesville Regional Airport hosts the event. It features a variety of aircraft, military vehicles, and a pilot seminar. Event Coordinator Pam Landis says everyone is welcome to learn more about aviation.

This year’s event also pays tribute to a long-time aviator. U.S. Air Force Col. Joe Kittinger passed away in December 2022. He was a fixture at previous Gator Fly-Ins. The University of Florida alumnus was a Vietnam Prisoner of War. He also held the world record for more than 50-years for the highest skydive. A “Flown West” ceremony is scheduled to honor Col. Kittinger.

There is no cost to attend and parking is available on the north side of the Gainesville Airport. The Gator Fly-In is 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. You can find the full schedule of events HERE.
