Alachua County, Gainesville Leadership Meet to Discuss Emergency Radio Broadcast Deal

After their ten-year contract ran up with Gainesville Regional Utilities, Alachua County and the city of Gainesville are working to develop a new plan for their trunk radio system. The Alachua County communications director worries this will have a negative impact on public safety. The deal has not been finished, as City Manager Lee Feldman was unable to reach a decision on Monday. The manager said he will revisit this topic in March.
