City Of Gainesville To Reopen Playgrounds Beginning Today

By

A phase 3 reopening plan for Gainesville’s playgrounds will be implemented starting today, Oct. 16.

Only several playground will reopen today, however — the remainder are expected to open by Oct. 23.

The city had kept the playgrounds closed during the pandemic out of caution. The city has now determined that it meets the current criteria established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to start reopening the parks.

Nevertheless, the city will continue to work with public health officials to assess the risk and levels for all activities, and still encourages social distancing and masks when visiting any parks and playgrounds.
