Gainesville March For Our Lives Protests Arming Teachers

By

Students are protesting against legislature that could potentially arm teachers in schools.

Over 30 members of March for Our Lives Gainesville boarded buses heading for Tallahassee. When they got there they gathered with other groups coming from Orlando and Tampa.

Jacob McEwen is a UF student. He was a substitute teacher and doesn’t believe the bill is a good idea.

“I think it’s important to get this bill defeated and get more funding towards education and this takes money right out of the public schools and they’re already short as it is,” he said.

Coverage on the press conference rally will be available on WUFT.org.
