Alachua County Preparing Polling Locations for Midterm Election

By

There are 62 polling locations in Alachua County for the midterm election in November.

The Alachua County Supervisor of Elections office is preparing to make sure there are no issues on Nov. 6. Director of Operations David Thomas said polling places are set up well before the opening time of 7 a.m. that day.

In the past two elections, there were delays reporting the results online.

“It’s a very difficult thing to get 100 percent on election night, but we strive — really hard,” Thomas said.

The office performs diagnostic and testing of the equipment months in advance to make sure there are no technical issues for this upcoming election.
