Q&A: Jim Ross, Editor For The Ocala Star Banner

By

Jim Ross, editor for the Ocala Star Banner, discussed a new collection of non-fiction essays about Florida called “In Season: Stories of Discovery, Loss, Home, and Places in Between.” The book includes essays by some well-known North Central Florida authors, including Lauren Groff.

In this interview, Ross talks with WUFT-FM’s Dana Hill about how he selected the essays in the book, what makes Florida a great subject for writers, and why the so-called “Florida Man” stories that make our state the butt of jokes were deliberately NOT the focus.
