Boardwalk At Devil’s Millhopper State Park Unlikely To Open Until 2019

By

The boardwalk at Devil’s Millhopper State Park will likely remain closed for the rest of the year due to repairs not yet completed following Hurricane Irma.

The park and its nature trail around the sinkhole remain open.

Park manager Robert Steele said the major redesign and repairs and of the sinkhole boardwalk will be finished by the beginning of 2019.

“Everything that’s there has to come out, and that new structure has to be built,” Steele said. A cost for the reconstruction project was not immediately available Wednesday afternoon.
