Florida Voices | Naomi Glaser, Still Here

For African American Civil War reenactor Naomi Glaser, her hobby comes with misunderstanding, discrimination and sometimes hate.

From being called “Aunt Jemima” to feeling uncomfortable in a time that is often “white-washed,” this living historian is willing to deal with ignorance and racism to promote education and understanding.

Working through the challenges of accepting her own racial identity, Glaser continues to push the boundaries beyond black and white. No matter the conditions, Glaser is “still here to teach.”
