Farm-to-School Program in Marion County Receives Grant

High school students at Vanguard High School in Ocala will soon be able to add to their farm-to-school program, with a $79,000 grant from State Farm Insurance for a new hydroponics systems. Vanguard found out this week that they were one of 68 recipients nationwide to receive such a grant. The school will also allow Vanguard to add a prep kitchen for harvesting produce and upgrade gardening equipment, along with the new hydroponics system.
