Nelson Armas was indicted by a grand jury Wednesday for the first degree murder of Hannah Brim, a 23-year-old Gainesville woman who has been missing since Jan. 19.
Brim was last seen in a car with Armas, according to earlier reports. Armas quickly became a suspect following Brim’s disappearance, said Gainesville police spokesman Ben Tobias.
Armas was also indicted for grand theft auto and tampering with physical evidence, in addition to first degree murder. He is currently in custody at the Alachua County Jail on unrelated charges.
Despite county-wide searches, Brim’s remains have not been recovered. GPD urges anyone with further information to contact detective Tom Mullins at 352-393-7619, CrimeStoppers at 352-372-STOP or text keyword GPDFL plus the tip to 274637.
