ITT Technical Institute Nationwide Shutdown

ITT Tech announced they will be shutting down all 130 of their campuses nationwide, leaving many students without the possibility of an ITT diploma.

ITT Tech was one of the largest for-profit colleges in the nation with campuses in 38 states. In Florida, there were nine.

Following their announcement, the technical institute released a list of colleges that may take the students' transfer credits. Among them was the University of Florida's online program.

The University of Florida evaluates transfer credits very closely, a spokeswoman said. The university will look at each student's transcript individually.

Following the news, Florida Senator Bill Nelson wrote a letter to the U.S. Department of Education in which he stated he wants to make sure these students are worked with and reimbursed.
