ALDI grocers is holding a job fair today and another on Thursday, Sept. 15, at the Hilton University of Florida Conference Center on Southwest 34th Street.
The one today will wrap up at 5 p.m., and the one on the 15th is scheduled to go from 8 a.m. to noon and again from 1 to 5 p.m.
The positions will be for ALDI’s two new Gainesville stores and another in Ocala.
The one in Butler North Plaza in Gainesville is scheduled to open in mid-October. The one at Northwest 13th Street and 39th Avenue in Gainesville doesn’t have a scheduled opening date yet, but training will be conducted at the Butler location. The one at State Road 200 and Southwest 90th Street in Ocala doesn’t have a scheduled opening date yet, either.
The company is hiring store associates, shift managers and a manager trainee. The positions are offered at $11.50 per hour, $15.50 per hour and $45,700 per year, respectively, according to a press release from ALDI.
“They treat their employees very well, I’ve heard,” Alex Johnston told WUFT Tuesday while filling out an application. “I have a friend in [North Carolina], and she referred me here. … They tend to care about their employees more.”
Also waiting to fill out an application Tuesday was Julian Sercy.
“We have an ALDI’s back from where I’m from in South Florida,” he said. “It’s relatively cheap.”
ALDI representatives declined to comment at the job fair Tuesday.
