Florida Delegates Converge In Cleveland

By

The Republican National Convention is underway in Cleveland this week.

Thousands of delegates will choose the party’s candidate for the 2016 presidential election. Celebrity businessman Donald Trump and his running mate, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence, are expected to receive the party’s nomination.

Trump’s nomination is welcome by many in attendance.

“I came over to this country with a lot of respect for the rule of laws,” said Thuy Lowe, an alternate delegate for Congressional District 5. “And that’s what we have to do — America’s first.”

Outside of the convention, which is being held at the Quicken Loans Arena in Downtown Cleveland, protestors from Black Lives Matter and a number of other groups were present.
