Gainesville Woman Wins $10M Prize From Scratch-Off Ticket

The Florida Lottery announced today that Gainesville resident Michelle Clay won the top prize of $10 million in the Florida Lottery’s Fortune scratch-off game.

Clay, 43, purchased the $25 ticket at the Publix at 125 SW 34th St. in Gainesville near the University of Florida campus, according to a news release from the Florida Lottery. The Fortune game launched on Feb. 23, and Clay is the first of an expected four to win the $10 million prize.

Clay chose to receive her winnings as a one-time payment of $7.348 million, the release said.
