College of Central Florida Receives $7.2 Million For Levy Center

By

The College of Central Florida received $7.2 million in funding to build a campus in Levy County. This funding was finally approved after the decision was vetoed three times.

The state has approved a 44,000-square-foot campus to be developed about five miles away from the current campus, which is located in a shopping plaza.

The new building will be the first permanent higher education facility serving all of Levy County, according to College of Central Florida president Jim Henningsen. The college has been pushing for a location upgrade for the past 12 years.
