One person is dead and another hospitalized following a shooting in the Holly Heights area of Gainesville.
Isadore Lee, 26, of Gainesville, was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other victim, Lakeya Steward, 28, of Gainesville, is being treated for a gunshot wound believed to be nonlife-threatening, according to the Alachua County Sheriff's Office.
The shooting occurred around 1:51 p.m. Monday at 6826 SW 4th Place in Holly Heights.
Initial investigations determined the shooting began with a disturbance between two or more individuals. One of the subjects pulled out a gun and fired, according to the sheriff's office. Witnesses fled the scene following gunfire.
Sheriff's deputies are talking to potential witnesses.
