Annual Battle Re-enactment Highlights History Of Olustee

An annual battle re-enactment recounting American Civil War history in Florida over 100 years ago returned to Olustee, Florida on Sunday.

The re-enactment showcases life in Florida in the 1800s, utilizing authentic tools, clothing and other materials to bring the past to life. The re-enactment highlights medical treatments, tools, the work of blacksmiths and three union color regiments from the time.

A Tennessee man and a Virginia man traveled to Olustee for the re-enactment 29 years ago and continue to attend each year. More information on the Olustee Battle Re-enactment and the rest of the Olustee Festival can be found here.
